“We have a considerable way to go to achieve full recovery in our economy, and many Americans are still grappling with unemployment, foreclosure, and lost savings,” [Fed Chairman Ben] Bernanke said.

For this he makes almost $200,000 a year?

It is still a recovery of the affluent, which the middle class continues to buckle under the pressures of the economy. Of course, the “bright” spot is that jobs aren’t dissipating as they were a few months ago. On the other hand, the so-called “recovery” is nowhere near strong enough to replace those jobs lost and barely strong enough to maintain those in place.

I am so tired of bad news; of politicians and pundits spouting everything from platitudes to extraordinary boasts. We’re in very deep and likely to remain there for at least another year.
