It’s morning on Memorial Day and I was laying in the hammock, reading (okay, it is early on a holiday for many, but never sleep past 7 or so), when my wife called me in to see a Today Show segment on the WASPs, Women Air Force Pilots.
During World War II, a select group of young women pilots became pioneers, heroes, and role models…They were the Women Airforce Service Pilots, WASP, the first women in history trained to fly American military aircraft. There’s also a WASP museum and it’s worth a visit or two.
