A Refugee from Reason Rule: Never engage in a conversation of any sort with an Ann Coulter fan.
This morning I had breakfast with a client who brought along an associate. I had thought the breakfast was of a business nature and, indeed, it began that way…but only for a few minutes before the associate chimed in that he had attended a rally at which Coulter spoke.
For the next five minutes or so he espoused her virtues and “Americanism,” then, when he caught his breath, he asked me what I thought of her, to which I responded: “First, I’m also an American, second, I’m Jewish and third this sorry excuse for a human being once declared that Jews need to be “perfected” by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.”
At that point, I tossed a sawbuck on the table and walked out.
