…Or never left. This 67 year old (my age) academic now calls my wife a minimum of four times daily, frequently a half dozen about the most innocuous issues one could consider. Her “boyfriend,” who lives in Japan, is “moving here after he retires in a year…” just like he was coming here to visit with her over the holidays last year.
In the vernacular, “Gimme a break.” My wife’s a sweetheart and continues to befriend this kind of person until the person becomes some obtuse, stupid, disappointing, etc. that she (wife) finally finds a way to distance herself.
