The “House Guest” who almost stayed forever remains in my life by way of phone calls to my wife. They generally begin at about 9:30 in the morning and there are at least a half dozen during the day. Now, this includes calls right after she and my wife have gone out together.
This is supposedly a “professional” woman who had an academic career as a dean at a small, insignificant college and apparently was blown out for a variety of reasons that were, of course, not her fault. She was out of our house on November 1 and has been living with her son and family since then. If you’ve not read this thread, she couldn’t stay with her son because his wife “was studying for exams.”
However, when she was kicked out of here, obviously she had to, though I have no idea why she couldn’t return to her midwest home. But that out of the way, can you imagine the effrontery of this woman staying with her son and his family for now two months. She’s just now found an apartment and, of course, can’t pick out furniture by herself. More time taken up from my wife, who, in all candor, does enjoy that sort of thing.
Oh yeah, the woman’s “boyfriend,” who lives abroad was going to come to visit over the holidays. You guessed it, he couldn’t make it.
More later…and I hope no more phone calls for the day.
