Computers, life, etc.

For several months, I’ve gone without an internal DVD writer and just used an external unit. I purchased an internal unit online on Monday it came quickly. By way of background, I’ve had a PC since its first day window back in the 80s and have installed these before. However on my PC, for some reason, I couldn’t get the old one out: Just couldn’t find the release (it wasn’t screwed in a rack). It cost me nearly $100 to have a guy come out to do it. At least I learned how to (a “button” I didn’t push) and helped the economy by paying this fellow a c-note.

I saw this morning that CitiGroup is once again suspending foreclosures for the holiday season. I suppose that means homeowners will at least have their anxiety reduced a bit. From a wire service story: “Citi has enrolled about 100,000 borrowers in the Obama program, but had made only about 270 of those modifications permanent as of the end of last month, according to a Treasury Department report.”

I’m just trying to figure out a way to put all of our troubles, woes, etc. away for a while and have a pleasant holiday season.
