Sirius-XM NO MORE!

For several years I’ve had XM-Sirius radio (it started with XM, then they merged). I’d listen to it constantly in my car and on my computer while I was working. Until recently, it was free on my computer and then these folks who have been operating in a loss position for years (in fairness, it has been narrowing, but not for long if they can’t get subscribers), popped a two buck extra charge on the monthly bill for that privilege.

The hell with it and I let my subscription expire thus saving nearly $200 a year. Of course, there’s a downside to it all. For the second time in a month I feel a bit stupid (the first was with that ungrateful, low-rent client). There are a ton of free Internet radio stations, many commercial free, with the music to which I most listen: jazz, blues and folk — and all available through iTunes.

Here’s my current playlist of Internet Radio Stations:

JAZZRADIO.com – Vocal Jazz
Alltime Oldies – Radio Theater Channel
KQED
Mystery Play I-Radio
Washington Post Radio
WTOP – News from the Nation’s Capital
Oldies104
Atlantic Radio
Rhythm and Blues Music Radio
