Does anyone really expect us to see a healthcare plan with a “public option?” Rest assured that whatever the clowns in Congress pass will leave most of us in the same condition we’re in now…and emergency rooms still in heavy use as “primary care physicians.”

Given the drivel I see on network news, to say nothing of local news, a pontification: The Daily Show is the best news show on television.

“Consumer confidence” was down “unexpectedly” in September. “Unexpectedly?” Who are these people who expected consumers to be more confident, given the fact that unemployment’s approaching double digits and nothing’s really changed for most of us. Oh, must be those “quality folk” who benefit from the s0-called “stimulus.”

Why did anyone care, or for that matter believe the “balloon boy” stories?

How many people are really worried about Afghanistan?

Our houseguest is leaving on November 1, which is about the only thing about which I feel good.
