Change?

I’m not certain what to make of the Administration’s view of the current economy. It seems they like to dwell on the “It was much worse than we thought when we came in” view now. Jawboning financial institutions for unconcionable payouts doesn’t do a helluva lot of pragmatic good, nor does it make others feel especially better.

These financial institutions, by the way, have already fund a new toy to replace the “derivatives” that started this whole mess. It would appear that they’ll find many more before Washington gets around to regulatory reform, or anything of substance for that matter. Seems the lobbyists continue to win their battles and their wins are mounting, mostly to the detriment of us.

The Internet is rife with political analysis, but do we really care about that? I suggest not as what we do care about is what’s in our pockets and that’s dwindling ever faster these days, as jobs continue to diminish. Oh, the Administration (and, again, I am a Liberal Dem, very much on the Left) likes to tout that it’s significantly stemmed the loss of jobs.

I’m not sure what that means. Couldn’t it also mean that companies are now operating as lean as they possibly can be?

I very much wanted to believe in this Administration and I will grant you that it’s still not a year in office; but I don’t seen anything in which to believe at this point.
