I’m finally beginning to believe Obama (and Joe Biden) can win. It is, however, the polls that concern me. Politico gives Obama a better than 2-1 margin in the Electoral College and shows a nine point lead in the Gallup Tracking Poll. CNN has the Electoral College at 264-174 in Obama’s favor.
My concern is the issue of race. This remains, indeed, an ugly nation on this issue: How will votes mark their ballots in three weeks? Even the thought that Sarah Palin is on the GOP ticket should be enough to force the appropriate Dem vote, if for no other reason that further embarrassing the nation with a “third term” may just be enough to kick us down to the third world.
